Established in 1986, the Children’s Support League of the East Bay (CSL) is a volunteer organization committed to improving the lives of children in our community. Our all-volunteer organization raises funds, primarily through its annual Heart of the Home Tour, to support a variety of non-profit agencies that benefit disadvantaged children, newborn to age 18, in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Our purpose is exclusively charitable.
CSL’s goals are to keep children safe, support their families, enhance their intellectual, emotional and physical well-being, and enrich their lives. CSL is dedicated to providing assistance to meet these basic needs for as many children as possible within our East Bay community. We serve disadvantaged and at-risk children without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, creed, political affiliation, or personal characteristics.
Children’s Support League offers its members a way to make a direct, noteworthy difference in the lives of many children throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties. We strive to maintain a very low overhead, generally not exceeding 3%, to ensure that the highest possible percentage of the funds we raise can be distributed through our competitive grant process.
Our accomplishments are made possible by the efforts of our members and our generous homeowners, underwriters, advertisers and other supporters. Each April, CSL holds its annual Heart of the Home Tour, Boutique and Raffle in Piedmont and Oakland. Combined with individual, foundation and corporate donations, the proceeds from the Tour have enabled CSL to award over $3.5 million in grants to programs supporting disadvantaged children, including $145,000 to 17 organizations in 2016.
"We've been raising money to help children's agencies in our community for a generation."
